Integrative Therapy Washington was founded in 2022 with the mission to offer integrative therapeutics services to adults, teens, and families.
What is integrative therapy?
While Western medicine has created and maintained a false binary of physical vs mental health issues…
Integrative psychotherapy acknowledges that everything is both physical and mental all at once. My therapy style integrates this framework alongside complementary and alternative approaches such as somatic exercises, dietary and nutrition interventions, interdisciplinary collaboration, social justice theory, queer theory, and emphasis on the healing relationship with traditional psychoanalytic, Jungian, and Adlerian psychotherapy.
According to Alfred Adler, when we feel encouraged, we feel capable and appreciated and will generally act in a connected and cooperative way. In addition, Carl Jung believed that the self is the unification of consciousness and unconsciousness, and that it is the result of integrating various aspects of a person's personality.
Therefore, when we are discouraged and not fully ourselves, we may act in unhealthy ways by competing, withdrawing, giving up, or turning on ourselves. It is in finding ways of accepting encouragement, respect, and social interest that help us feel fulfilled and optimistic…while also integrating discarded emotions and past versions of ourselves.
Whether you are struggling with mysterious physical ailments, lacking balance in your daily life, feeling lonely, going through a major transition, or working through past trauma…
I am excited to virtually meet and support you on this journey.
